People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is the largest animal rights organisation in the world, and PETA entities have more than 9 million members and supporters globally.

PETA opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview, and focuses its attention on the four areas in which the largest numbers of animals suffer the most intensely for the longest periods of time: in laboratories, in the food industry, in the clothing trade, and in the entertainment business. We also work on a variety of other issues, including the cruel killing of rodents, birds, and other animals who are often considered “pests” as well as cruelty to domesticated animals.

PETA works through public education, investigative newsgathering and reporting, research, animal rescue, legislation, special events, celebrity involvement, and protest campaigns. For more information check the Peta official website.

A healthy skin pH is typically between 5.1 to 5.9, with some studies even indicating that healthy skin is often slightly more acidic (below 5). Certain products with higher pH levels can cause dehydration, irritation, and alter bacterial flora.

Skin has a mutualistic symbiotic relationship with its microflora: the human skin provides the right biotope for the resident flora, while the resident flora in turn strengthens human’s defence by prevention of the colonisation of harmful bacteria as well as playing a role in the acidification of the skin

Skin pH < 5.0 shows statistically significant less scaling and higher hydration levels than subjects with skin pH > 5.0. Natural healthy human skin surface pH is on aver- age 4.7, lower than currently assumed (pH 5.4– 5.9).

Skin with pH < 5.0 is in better condition than skin with pH > 5.0, Growth of S. epidermidis, under in-vitro acidic pH conditions (pH 4.7) and in the presence of lactate, is enhanced when compared with neutral pH, whereas growth of S. aureus is strongly inhibited under these acidic conditions. An acid pH seems to preserve the resident bacterial flora, whereas an alkaline pH causes dispersal from the skin.

H. Lambers, S. P. (2006, July). Natural skin surface pH is on average below 5, which is beneficial for its resident flora . International Journal of Cosmetic Science,(28), 359–370 ct balanced PH of (5,1-5,3)

  • The Argan (Argania spinosa), also known as Morocco Ironwood, is a shrubby, quite thorny evergreen tree, native to the calcareous, semi-desert soils of south-western Morocco (Souss region).
  • Argan grows to 8-10 meters of height, and its life span is said to be from 125 to 450 years, but the tree may not come into full production until it is 40-60 years old; it occurs only in Morocco.
  • The flowers, flowering in April, are small, with five pale yellow- green petals.
  • The fruit is 2-4 cm long and 1.5-3 cm broad, green, similar to an olive but larger, with a thick, bitter peel surrounding a sweet-smelling, but unpleasantly flavored layer of pulpy pericarp.
  • Argan oil contains 80% of unsaturated fatty acids, is rich in essential fatty acids with the predominance of omega-6 acids.
  • Contains also large amounts of vitamin E, while being more resistant to oxidation than olive oil.
  • Argan oil’s healthful properties and plenty of uses have helped propel this product to stardom. It contains many antioxidants and is rich in vitamin E. These properties alone make argan oil an ideal ingredient for a variety of skin creams and other cosmetic products.
  • Indeed, in the skin, during the differentiation of basal layer keratinocytes into corneocytes of the stratum corneum, a reorganization and biochemical transformation of the lipids takes place. Particularly there is enrichment in ceramides of the stratum corneum intercellular cement.
  • One of the major biochemical components is the linoleic acid. It is proven, that a deficiency in this essential fatty acid causes dehydration by transepidermal way, and itching accompanied by desquamation.
  • Argan oil has outstanding regenerative properties and is an effective product to regulate the moisture and restructure of skin. Argan oil has a high level of oleic acid, provides resistance to oxidation and is an excellent moisturizer.
  • It is also used in antiaging applications due to the antioxidising action of the tocopherols, which act on the essential fatty acids of the membranes and give stability.
  • Argan Oil has an inhibitory effect on the free radicals which form and prevents them from becoming active and therefore the membranes from becoming oxidized. The activity of the vitamin E is useful in the treatment of eczema and urticaria and it is therefore added to after sun products to avoid the problems derived from over exposure to solar radiation.
  • Argan oil Contains Polyphenols which are highly important antioxidants, acting as free radical scavengers. (López LC, 2013) (Urszula, Tomasz, & Izabela, 2019)
